METAL PORTUGAL has long participated collectively in some of the leading international industrial subcontracting events, such as Global Industrie \u2013 MIDEST in France, Hannover Messe in Germany, ESEF in the Netherlands, ELMIA Subcontractor in Sweden, Subcontracting in Spain, and, most recently, MetalMadrid in the neighboring market. Industrial subcontracting in the metallurgical and metalworking sector is primarily characterized by the production of technical parts with a high rate of technological incorporation, high quality, and increasing added value.<\/p>\n

It is a subsector that has forged a brilliant path, reflected in the enormous international competitiveness of the Portuguese offering. Portugal has managed to position itself as a global player, standing out in the market due to its production capacity for small, high-value-added series, with flexibility and a remarkable price\/quality ratio, which positions METAL PORTUGAL companies operating in the subcontracting sector. , as preferred suppliers to major automobile, aeronautical, and energy manufacturers, among other groups of enormous relevance, sophistication, and demand.<\/p>\n

With high technological and engineering competitiveness, subcontracting plays a significant role in the metal sector and the national economy. With an average share of 35% of the metallurgical and metalworking sector in the main indicators, this subsector employs 81,800 people and represents a turnover of \u20ac9.3 billion and a GVA of more than \u20ac2.5 billion (latest available data reported in 2017).<\/p>\n

It is, without a doubt, a segment of activity that not only cannot and should not be forgotten, but must be taken into account in the main economic policy and international trade strategies.<\/p>\n

In fact, the evolution of the national landscape, as is the case internationally, continues to point to a growing level of service provision by specialized service companies, a form of action generally referred to as “subcontracting,” which can take various forms, from more or less complex maintenance operations to simpler machining or component manufacturing.<\/p>\n

This market shift makes industrial subcontracting a growing subsector.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, in the case of the metalworking and metallurgical sector in Portugal, subcontracting also provides an opportunity for small and medium-sized national companies to compete on equal footing with their foreign competitors in the case of demanding, large-scale projects, either in terms of value or in terms of the size and complexity of the work.<\/p>\n

In 2019, for the first time, AIMMAP, together with ANEME and AIDA, organized the collective participation of METAL PORTUGAL at MetalMadrid, an important participation with twelve leading companies that demonstrated an excellent performance at this fair.<\/p>\n

Neighboring Spain continues to represent one of the main markets for metal exports, and METAL PORTUGAL’s excellent performance at this fair is expected to further leverage this reality, especially since subcontracting service companies generally have excellent capabilities for growth and consolidation in the export market.<\/p>\n

The quality demonstrated at the national pavilion in various aspects left no one indifferent, and at the 2020 edition of MetalMadrid, METAL PORTUGAL will be the “Guest Country.” MetalMadrid thus joins a group of international fairs where the industrial subcontracting subsector METAL PORTUGAL represents at the highest level, which is best done in Portugal, and where AIMMAP organizes collective participation together with AIDA and ANEME, developing a partnership and joint efforts, promoting greater visibility and representation of the national business community.<\/p>\n

There’s no doubt that year after year, METAL PORTUGAL is gaining ground internationally in the field of industrial subcontracting, standing out very positively in the fields of quality, design, innovation, and technology.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
