The 2nd edition of ADDITIV Medical, the meeting between 3D and the medical sector, is here!
- We will have the presence of important Spanish hospitals such as Hospital 12 de octubre and Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau.
Barcelona, 15 February 2023 The use of additive manufacturing in medicine has continued to grow in recent years. This became especially noticeable from 2020 with the global pandemic where 3D printing demonstrated its potential. To learn first-hand about the importance of this manufacturing method, especially in Spanish hospitals, don’t miss this year’s event. On 28 March 2023 comes a new edition of ADDITIV Medical, a hybrid meeting of the 3D industry with the medical and dental sector. This unique opportunity will serve as a meeting point between the different companies that use 3D printing in the health sector, with those hospitals and research centres in the same field. After the success of the first edition in 2022, with almost 900 registered professionals, and with the participation of hospitals and companies such as Hospital Puerta del Mar, Hospital Clinic de Barcelona, Avinent or Medtronic, this new meeting aims to continue exploring the benefits of additive manufacturing in the field of health and dentistry.
The virtual meeting point for the medical and dental sector
After the success of the first edition in 2022, with almost 900 registered professionals, and with the participation of hospitals and companies such as Hospital Puerta del Mar, Hospital Clinic de Barcelona, Avinent or Medtronic, this new meeting aims to continue exploring the benefits of additive manufacturing in the field of health and dentistry. We look forward to seeing you on 28 March 2023 in hybrid form at ADDITIV Medical, where there will be a day featuring exhibiting companies, speakers specialising in different fields of medicine and professionals from the sector who will give us their vision of the current state of medical 3D printing. As last year, the hybrid event will be made up of a main part that will take place virtually. Through an online platform we will be able to exchange experiences in a dynamic way with the rest of the attendees and professionals. Over the course of 5 hours, we will soak up knowledge about the use of 3D technologies in the medical and dental sector. This day will be dedicated to conferences, workshops and networking sessions with health experts. The virtual event will open its doors at 09:00 (GMT+1) with an opening speech before moving on to the first panel of the day, entitled “3D Printing of Medical Devices: From Prototype to Final Part”. These talks will last 40 minutes and will cover topics from different healthcare sectors in Spain.
Each panel will be followed by a 30-minute workshop in which a company will show us an interesting topic or application of 3D technology. Both in the panels and in the workshops, attendees will be able to ask the experts their doubts and questions so that they can answer them live. After each hour of presentations, the event will allow 20 minutes of virtual networking in which participants will be able to move around the different virtual tables in order to interact with other attendees, raise interesting topics or even exchange contacts.
After the virtual networking, the round of presentations will start again, consisting of a conference and a workshop. One of the topics we can expect from these panels will focus on “Work processes in additive manufacturing through medical and dental imaging”, and the other will cover “The role of 3D printing in the fight against cancer”. Still, stay tuned for more information in the coming days and to find out who will be speaking at these conferences!
A face-to-face conference with actors from the sector
In addition to the virtual part, ADDITIV Medical will once again bring the 3D industry together physically in the city of Barcelona. Unlike the first edition, this meeting will take place at DFactory Barcelona, thanks to our partner IAM3DHUB. We have already confirmed the presence of great professionals and hospital centres, as well as 3D printing companies that will be part of this physical day, although we will still have to wait a little bit to know all the details! You can get more information about the physical part through this link.
