Total VALONA BIO: New range of vegetable and biodegradable cutting oils
The new VALONA BIO range is a high-performance, biodegradable, multi-purpose, plant-based, full-fat cutting oil. Thanks to the careful selection of raw materials, this cutting oil has improved its performance compared to traditional oils: high flash point, low odor, very low content of harmful compounds, low mist production, and low foam formation. This provides operators with a better working environment.
The metalworking industry’s technical and operational requirements regarding lubrication and cooling are constantly increasing. At the same time, Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations are becoming increasingly stringent, strongly impacting the development of metalworking fluids.
Total has developed this technology to adapt to all customer requirements and needs, such as: products that are less harmful to health, eliminating some of the aromatic compounds classified as very harmful to health, thus avoiding the H304 label; safer working conditions for employees, working with products with a higher flash point; and, of course, without sacrificing the ability to work with a high-performance product that increases productivity.
For all these reasons, Total is launching the new range of vegetable-based and biodegradable full-cut oils, VALONA BIO.
The VALONA BIO range is a multipurpose product based on synthetic esters with multiple advantages, such as:
Biodegradable oils
Free of hazardous molecules
High flash point, reducing the risk of fire
Very high resistance to oxidation, extending the life of the fluid
Very low volatility, which significantly reduces consumption
No foam or mist generation, which improves the workshop environment
Excellent wear resistance, increasing tool life
Applicable by Microlubrication (MQL)
