Madrid, February 13, 2020. – MetalMadrid is preparing for its 13th edition, strengthening the presence of Composites Spain, the only trade fair in Spain dedicated to composite materials and their applications, which will offer the most innovative solutions in the use of these advanced materials for the aeronautical, defense, automotive, naval, and construction sectors, as well as for the design of sportswear, among others.
MetalMadrid and Composites Spain will be held on September 30th and October 1st in Halls 3, 5, and 7 at IFEMA, increasing their exhibition space to 34,000 m2, 21% more than the last edition. They have thus consolidated their position as the only industrial event in Spain that brings together more than 700 exhibiting brands and nearly 13,000 professional visitors each year.
Along with these, all subsectors of industrial transformation will be represented in different areas: Robomatics (which will present innovations in robotics and automation); Connected Manufacturing (which will showcase everything related to Industry 4.0, big data, IoT, cybersecurity, and the automation of planning, design, testing, manufacturing, and logistics processes); and Additive Manufacturing (a manufacturing method that is expected to reach a global turnover of $16 billion this year).
To date, 70% of the companies participating in 2019 have confirmed their participation in this edition. Once again, the event will be sponsored by Fuchs Lubricants, Hoffmann Group, Schunk, and Trumpf Machinery, event partners Lantek and HP 3D Printing, as well as major industrial brands such as Delteco, ABB, Acerinox, Altair, Alu-Stock, Bystronic, Comercial de soldadura, Fronius, Hauck, Hejar, Heller Ibérica, Hexagon, Indaero, Ineo Prototypes, Infaimon, Norelem, Panasonic, Renishaw, Robert Bosch, Röhm, Sign-Tronic, Tungaloy, Universal Robots, Yaskawa, and many more. They have been joined by companies such as Automa2000, BASF, Bollhoff, Cecofersa, GH Cranes, I.P Ingenieria de Producción, Lovere Bilbao, Maquinaria Geka, Mastertec, Milwakee, Roboteco, Voestalpine Böhler, and Industrias Ilmo, among others, who will be participating in this leading industrial transformation event for the first time.
Thus, with eight months left until the event, and with the expected growth in 2020, 70% of the available stands are already occupied.
MetalMadrid closed its latest edition with an all-time record of exhibitors and visitors, with more than 12,700 professionals. It also surpassed the number of exhibitors from previous years, reaching 640, with an increase in foreign presence and representation from most of the regional governments, led by Catalonia, the Basque Country, and Madrid.
As in previous editions, this year’s event is expected to address the major challenges facing the industrial sector, such as the sustainability and decarbonization of companies, digital transformation, the jobs of the future, and the competitiveness of our industrial fabric.
According to Oscar Barranco, director of the show: “The excellent results from the previous edition are a very important incentive to work to maintain our leadership. I sincerely believe that staying abreast of the most cutting-edge solutions and listening to the demands of our visitors and exhibitors is what makes us the preeminent event for industrial innovation. This is one of the reasons why we are going to give greater prominence to Composites Spain, a market that will likely exceed €85 billion this year.”
