FUCHS’s Spanish subsidiary takes stock and faces the year with significant challenges.

In 2019, the Ministry of Science and Innovation awarded FUCHS LUBRICANTES, S.A.U. the recognition of INNOVATIVE SME. Since January 1, the FUCHS GROUP has been a carbon-neutral company. On January 24, FUCHS LUBRICANTES held a meeting with all company employees to present the results of the previous year and the projects for this new year. During the event, Gema del Olmo, R&D Manager who recently joined the company’s Management Committee, announced the recognition that FUCHS LUBRICANTES had received from the Ministry of Science and Innovation as an Innovative SME: “This award reflects our company’s continued improvement through innovative research and development activities.” This recognition reinforces the Spanish subsidiary’s position as a technological hub within the FUCHS Group.

Another highly significant milestone for the company announced at the meeting is the imminent consolidation of IATF 16949 certification, a quality requirement for the automotive industry that allows FUCHS LUBRICANTS to continue expanding its production of first-fill lubricants for automotive component and vehicle manufacturers. Since January 1, the FUCHS Group has been carbon neutral. In line with this achievement, the Spanish subsidiary announced new investments aimed at further reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions that it will make throughout the year. Improving the efficiency of its production and logistics processes through new developments in the Supply Chain and adapting processes to the requirements of ISO 45001, which certifies a reliable occupational health and safety management system, are also, in summary, major goals for 2020. During the meeting, other activities aimed at promoting cooperation and synchronization within the work team were carried out, such as the workshop entitled “Culture, Values, and Leadership Principles” and the conference “Living and Working with Enthusiasm” given by Víctor Küppers.
