Automation-ready gauging system for shop-floor dimensional control – Renishaw Equator™

Reprogrammable, thermally insensitive comparative gauging system for dimensional control on the shop floor.

Renishaw’s Equator™ is a gauging system for controlling the manufacturing process through highly repeatable, thermally insensitive, versatile and reprogrammable comparative measurement on the shop floor.

Production parts are compared against a previously measured master part to verify they are within tolerance. Thermal variations are compensated through remastering. Because it is reprogrammable, a single machine covers multiple part references and replaces dedicated part-specific gauges.

Equator 300 and 500: for small, medium and large parts, with scanning speeds above 200 mm/s and operation between 5 °C and 50 °C.
Equator-X 500: combines Absolute mode (accuracy of 2.1 µm + L/300, no master part required) and Comparison mode (±2 µm repeatability), designed for large batches and cycle-time-driven processes.

It supports manual or automated measurement, with automatic part loading, results monitoring and tool offset updates on CNC machines.
