Easyfairs Iberia has become a full member of the Spanish Trade Fair Association (AFE). Its aim is to boost its role in the dynamisation of the industry, and to emphasise the importance of trade fairs as key drivers of the economy and as a first-class showcase for innovations and cutting-edge solutions.
In this regard, according to the Spanish Trade Fair Association (AFE), the number of trade fairs in 2021 has tripled compared to 2020, which indicates a gradual return to normality in the holding of this type of event in Spain, an assessment that has been confirmed in the first half of 2022.
The president of AFE, Xabier Basañez, has declared: “The celebration of 273 fairs in 2021, including some virtual and hybrid fairs, allow us to qualify the year as one of transition, with a notably positive sign with respect to the previous difficult year. The fairs that are being held week after week in 2022 give us optimism, due to their number and their behaviour, which leads us to believe that we are getting closer to pre-pandemic normality”.
Oscar Barranco, Divisional Director of Easyfairs Iberia, adds: “Every year, more than 32,000 trade fairs are held worldwide, generating 251 billion euros in commercial sales in the various business sectors. It is estimated that for every euro an exhibitor invests in a trade fair, they get a return of two euros during the event, and eight euros in the post-event period”.
