AUJOR completes surface treatment of a 23-tonne stainless steel industrial reactor

A 15-metre-long, 23-tonne reactor demonstrates AUJOR's technical capabilities in specialised surface treatments for large-scale industrial equipment.

What does it take to carry out a complete surface treatment on a 23-tonne industrial reactor?

AUJOR has completed the treatment of a pyrolysis trommel reactor measuring 15 metres in length, 3 metres in diameter and weighing 23 tonnes, a project requiring detailed technical and logistical planning.

The work, carried out at our facilities, involved cleaning, degreasing, pickling and passivation of both the internal and external stainless steel surfaces.

Beyond the size of the equipment, the project required careful coordination of transportation, unloading, handling and positioning, as well as access to internal areas, protection of components and appropriate waste management.

The project specifications also included visual inspections and surface cleanliness verification tests, with reference to ASTM A380 and ASTM A967.

This project demonstrates that treating large-scale equipment requires more than operational capacity. It calls for specialist expertise, suitable technical resources, tailored procedures and controlled execution.

AUJOR provides specialised stainless steel surface treatments for tanks, reactors, autoclaves, industrial vessels and other large-scale equipment, both at our facilities and on-site at our customers' plants.

Do you have a large-scale stainless steel project? Our technical team can assess your requirements and recommend the most suitable treatment.
