      Tooling Materials

Airtech tooling materials are a range of products designed for the manufacture of durable moulds and tools used in the production of composite parts. These materials include moulding blocks, epoxy resins, laminating systems and adhesives that enable the creation of strong, precise tools for in- and out-of-autoclave curing of composites. Dimensional stability and the ability to withstand high temperatures make Airtech's tooling materials a reliable choice for mould making in the aerospace, automotive and wind energy industries. Within this line is the Toolmaster® brand, an advanced product family that facilitates the creation of tools with precision and durability. Toolmaster® includes modelling boards and laminating resins that accommodate a variety of mould configurations and manufacturing processes. These materials are designed to offer high thermal and mechanical strength, ensuring that the manufactured tools maintain their integrity and form during repeated high temperature cure cycles. The flexibility and performance of Toolmaster® products are ideal for those seeking high quality, efficient mould making solutions.

Tornillos de plástico e insertos de plástico autorroscantes TEPRO® K' in K' para usar en piezas de plástico

In the medium and long term, direct threading with metal screws into plastic parts leads to problems with the fit or the screw connection itself, due to movement, vibration, and temperature changes. When working with plastic components, it makes more sense to use plastic screws. The solution, in this case, is to use our K' in K' plastic fasteners (from the German "Kunststoff in Kunststoff," meaning "plastic in plastic"). K' in K' plastic screws and plastic inserts utilize a patented thread geometry that is easily identified by two offset half-threads. The K' in K' thread self-forms or self-taps a receiving thread within the pre-made cylindrical or conical plastic housing. A chip-receiving groove running the entire length of the plastic screw allows for optimal threading and tapping without blocking the thread flanks. Thanks to the resulting rake angle and the adjacent free angle, the thread penetrates the material with a reduced tightening torque during threading. However, when unscrewing these plastic screws or fasteners, a significantly higher tightening torque is required, ensuring that the fastener is reliably secured against accidental loosening or detachment.
