By adding the new pneumatic index plungers, we are also expanding our range in the area of index plungers / index bolts for use in automated machines and plants. The index plungers take on positioning and locking tasks in a reliable and reproducible fashion – even where manual operation is not possible or desired. Depending on the application, the products are available as single- or double-acting versions and as variants with electronic position sensing.

Automated manufacturing and assembly processes call for positioning and locking solutions that work with precision and reliable repeatability. The new pneumatic index plungers can be integrated directly into pneumatic controls and perform these tasks without manual operation.

To guarantee optimal adaptation to different applications, the products come in single-acting and double-acting versions. While single-acting variants allow the locking pin to engage or disengage by spring force, double-acting versions realise both engagement and disengagement by pneumatic force.

The index plungers are optionally available with electronic position sensing. This feature detects the position of the locking pin and makes the corresponding signals available to machine controls or for process monitoring. The integrated IO-Link interface can be used to parameterise the switching points. This results in increased process transparency and supports reliable plant monitoring.
