How to choose an industrial adhesive: epoxy, polyurethane, MMA, MS, cyanoacrylate or anaerobic

Choosing an industrial adhesive isn't about finding the product with the highest advertised strength. Nor is it about simply replacing a Loctite®, 3M™ Scotch-Weld™, TEROSON®, Permabond®, Araldite®, or BETAFORCE™ product based solely on its color, viscosity, or brand name. The right selection begins with a different question: What function must the adhesive perform within the industrial assembly? The product needed to secure a bearing in a metal housing is not the same as the one used to bond a composite panel to a frame, repair a bumper, bond a rubber gasket, seal a flange, or mount a magnet inside an electric motor.
