MetalMadrid and Composites Spain, a trade fair part of the Easyfairs group, has been offering this technology since 2016, anticipating the contactless trend. At its last edition, it helped generate more than 58,000 commercial interactions in just two days.
MetalMadrid and Composites Spain is the leading industrial innovation event, which will be held on September 30th and October 1st at IFEMA, with more than 600 exhibiting brands already confirmed.
May 26, 2020. MetalMadrid and Composites Spain are working on comprehensive health protocols and prevention plans to ensure the safety of their event, which will be held at IFEMA on September 30 and October 1. In fact, the fair is investing in a wide range of solutions, from enhanced hygiene procedures to technologies that guarantee impeccable levels of sanitation and cleanliness.
In light of the outbreak of COVID-19, the WHO urges people to avoid contact as much as possible, a recommendation that is being implemented at all levels, with contactless technology as a new ally in controlling the spread. Thus, many establishments, among other measures, recommend the use of contactless payment methods. It is estimated that by the end of this year, 67% of cards will be contactless.
The Easyfairs group is a pioneer in the use of Smart Badge technology within the trade fair sector, a proposal that falls under the zero-contact trend. In fact, it’s been used at all of its events since 2016. This way, companies can offer their information and products in digital format, as the badge acts as a virtual folder that stores all the information.
Its implementation was developed with the aim of making the visitor experience easier and more comfortable by eliminating the need to carry dozens of brochures or business cards. It also provides a sustainable system that reduces production and transportation costs and waste.
Now, as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19, the use of the Smart Badge is more relevant than ever. MetalMadrid and Composites Spain are offering their exhibitors and visitors a technology that allows for contactless networking and business relationships.
It’s worth noting that at the last edition of the show, more than 58,000 business interactions were generated in just two days thanks to the Smart Badge. The fair organizers are confident that this year’s figure will be much higher.
During the two days of the fair, each exhibitor will have a reader at their stand. When a visitor touches their badge to the wireless sensor, it will collect the information that the company has previously updated in their My Easyfairs profile. At the end of the day, the visitor will receive an email with a summary of their visit.
Furthermore, Smart Badge contributes to increased engagement by making it easier for attendees to share the information received with their colleagues via email or on their social media channels. This technology provides greater visibility to the different business initiatives showcased at MetalMadrid and Composites Spain, and post-event follow-up is easier.
Oscar Barranco, Events Director at Easyfairs Spain, wants to encourage all companies to join MetalMadrid and Composites Spain, confident in the significant contribution these professional events will make to the reactivation of the economy and our industry.
“Our mission, ‘Visit the Future,’ makes more sense than ever; and as we look ahead, there is one thing we can be sure of: trade fairs, exhibitions, and other live events will play a vital role in reconnecting people face-to-face, doing business together again, and thus accelerating the recovery,” says Barranco.
MetalMadrid and Composites Spain, the leading industrial innovation event, will host around 600 exhibiting brands at IFEMA, showcasing the latest solutions in metalworking, machine tools, subcontracting, robotics and cobots, advanced materials and composites, PPE, components from different sectors, supplies, surface treatment, connected industry, additive manufacturing, and much more.
