InnovMetric releases PolyWorks® MS 2020 for 3D dimensional analysis and quality control

Featuring multi-part editing capabilities for inspection project setup and analysis, it extends the universality of your scanning center and improves the performance of your data capture solution.

InnovMetric, the global leader in intelligent 3D metrology software solutions, today announced the international release of PolyWorks® MS 2020, its 3D dimensional analysis and quality control solution. PolyWorks MS 2020 offers multi-part editing capabilities that accelerate the preparation of robust inspection projects and facilitate data analysis. This new major release also extends the universality of its scanning center by adding support for new measuring instruments and increases the productivity of CNC CMMs by accelerating the execution of measurement sequences.
“Successfully deploying the PolyWorks enterprise platform to market isn’t just about closing important deals. It’s also about accepting great responsibility,” said Marc Soucy, president of InnovMetric. He added: “Every year, we have a mission, as our customers expect us to improve their daily performance, offer the new dimensional controls they need, and increase the universality of our platform by adding and improving our 3D measurement hardware interfaces. With PolyWorks 2020, we’ve hit the mark once again.”

Increase the quality of project configurations and analyses by leveraging multiple scanned models.

PolyWorks|Inspector™ now allows users to modify and add data alignments, measurement objects, and inspection reports for multiple measured parts at once.
This new capability will allow PolyWorks users to more easily prepare robust inspection projects that support all parts. When a user builds an initial project and begins measuring parts, they may encounter a problematic part for which the object extraction parameters aren’t working correctly. The new multi-part editing technology allows users to fine-tune the object extraction and adjustment parameters until satisfactory results are achieved, and then apply these changes to all previously scanned parts in one operation, ensuring the new parameters don’t negatively affect other parts.
Multi-part editing is also a very powerful tool for quickly investigating a production failure by analyzing previously manufactured parts. When a failed part is detected, new measurement objects and reports are typically required to obtain additional information. PolyWorks 2020 now allows users to add these new objects and reports to a subset of selected parts in a single operation, allowing them to analyze object measurement results, trend graphs, and statistics on these parts to better understand the conditions that led to errors.

Benefit from the increased universality of the portable metrology solution

PolyWorks MS 2020 enhances your portable metrology workflows and adds interfaces for new instruments, expanding the limits of the PolyWorks|Inspector platform:
– Construct plans and lines from previously measured objects and access the full suite of GD&T tools and fit statistics;
– Enable the use of Creaform laser scanners within the Run Inspection tool;
– Enjoy high-performance measurement methods that leverage the capabilities of the Leica ATS600 tracker; and,
– Connect to a MicroRidge MobileCollect wireless system and transfer handheld gauge measurements to inspection projects.

Increase CNC CMM productivity

More and more CNC CMM users are adopting PolyWorks MS as they discover its performance and ease of use. The 2020 version enhances and expands its CNC CMM solution to help users increase their productivity in their ultra-competitive markets by:

– Accelerating the execution of CNC CMM sequences while probing in flight mode (up to 50% faster) and performing laser scans;
– Ensuring the machine can reach CMM positions to avoid invalid moves when defining a sequence offline, or by helping to port a sequence to a CMM with a different measurement volume; and,
– Enjoy high-performance measurement methods that leverage the capabilities of the Leica ATS600 tracker; and,
– Offering control of Hexagon and Zeiss CMM-based laser scanners through R++.

Speed up inspection tasks

PolyWorks MS 2020 offers better tools and new technologies that eliminate guesswork and help users work faster. They can now:

– Optimize and enhance their GD&T toolbox, thanks to improved algorithms that speed up 2-point distance calculations and produce more accurate and repeatable results, and support for a new Blended Zone modifier;
– Quickly learn and master interactive modes thanks to new, easy-to-use contextual toolbars and improved guidance;
– Easily share their custom toolbars and macros with colleagues and partners;
– Link multi-part inspection projects to their Excel spreadsheets with PolyWorks|ReportLoop™;e,
