FUCHS LUBRICANTS obtains the Globeenergy green energy certificate

The company develops initiatives that promote energy efficiency, the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, and the use of biogenic raw materials.

Certificado FUCHS energía verde-Globeenergy

FUCHS LUBRICANTS has received the certificate confirming the consumption of 100% renewable energy in its facilities, issued by Globeenergy and endorsed by the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC).

FUCHS has been working for years on energy efficiency throughout the production cycle of its lubricants. The certificate obtained by Globeenergy confirms the company’s commitment to renewable energy. This initiative will directly benefit FUCHS customers by promoting more eco-efficient and high-quality products.

With the introduction of this initiative, the organization contributes to fulfilling one of the priority measures of its environmental policy, to significantly reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by focusing on ecological criteria in terms of consumption, manufacturing, transportation, and the gradual reduction in waste generation.

FUCHS LUBRICANTS is fully committed to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals, promoted by the European Union. In addition to its firm commitment to renewable energy, to improve its production chain and actively contribute to respecting the planet, it also pursues lines of research into the development of biogenic raw materials that do not harm the ecosystem, as an alternative to fossil raw materials.

Photovoltaic Installation

FUCHS has begun installing photovoltaic panels at its facilities. A total of 748 panels will cover an area of 1,652 m2 on the roof of the company’s new finished products warehouse, as well as on the existing raw materials warehouse.

The installation, which will be completed in January 2021, will provide 332.86 kWp of power, covering 43% of the company’s annual consumption. Although the energy produced will initially be for self-consumption, FUCHS, as the owner of the facility, has not ruled out feeding the surplus into the grid, as a firm commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.

Production of Eco-Efficient Lubricants

FUCHS, firmly committed to sustainability, has achieved important milestones for more than a decade, generating a positive economic and ecological impact on its customers. As part of its environmental policy, it is directly involved in research programs and projects, particularly on the use of more sustainable raw materials.

One of the organization’s latest actions has been to promote the development of carbon-neutral products by engaging its raw material suppliers, who are responsible for 90% of the carbon footprint of the final lubricant.
