2021 Tech Trends the Industrial Sector Shouldn’t Lose Sight of

The pandemic has further empowered people, humanizing companies in their relationships with all their stakeholders. Customers, suppliers, employees, partners… Now more than ever, it has become clear that the most important asset of any organization is its people: how they feel, how they act, how they relate, how they think. This is the Internet of Behavior (IoB).

Even before the outbreak of COVID-19, the need to personalize products and services was a daily part of factories. Thanks to Big Data and Artificial Intelligence systems (in its deepest form, Machine Learning), in the industrial sector, data analytics cross-referenced data to detect consumption patterns, either for a particular customer or for consumers in general; or by geographic area or continent.

Now, intelligence technology is going a step further to highlight this combination of digitalization and personalization in what is known as the Internet of Behavior, placing people even more at the center of decision-making. For the consulting firm Gartner, this year the IoB is the first of nine strategic trends that will enable the flexibility and agility required by resilient companies.
