Juan Antonio Cámara - CEO Mecal Ibérica

What is Mecal and how does it differ from other companies?

Mecal Ibérica is a company specialising in the production of machines and systems for processing aluminium, PVC and light alloys. With more than 40 years in the Iberian market, Mecal Ibérica has established itself as a benchmark in the supply of specialised machinery for the manufacture of aluminium and PVC enclosures. The company stands out for its wide range of industrial machining solutions, both manual and fully automated, including CNC cutting systems and CNC machining centres for materials such as aluminium, PVC, light alloys, composite material and steel.

What kind of innovations are you working on lately in the field of profile machining?

Mecal Ibérica has been developing advanced solutions in machining centres, such as the MC 304 ARIEL – 5 MDT, a 5-axis CNC machining centre equipped with a cutting module (MDT) designed primarily for machining extruded profiles intended for the creation of curtain walls. This module is able to manage the process of obtaining multiple parts, with independently motorised clamps, allowing greater flexibility and efficiency in the machining of complex profiles.

Which sectors are currently demanding more machining and assembly solutions and have you detected new niches with potential?

Mecal Ibérica offers industrial machining solutions for a wide variety of sectors, especially rail, marine and automotive, including lighting, escalators, lifting equipment, gates, railings, heating, tents and scaffolding. The company provides solutions for both high and low quantities of small and massive sized profiles used in various industrial items.

How are you incorporating digitalisation and automation in your machining centres and machinery? What technologies do you think will shape the future of profile machining?

Mecal Ibérica has integrated advanced digital technologies in its machining centres, such as the MC 307 FALCON TM MMI, which is fully equipped with digital technology and dedicated to machining aluminium, steel, PVC and light alloy profiles. This compact, fast and flexible machining centre is suitable for a variety of machining needs, with features such as axis speeds up to 150 m/min and innovative design.

What’s not to be missed at your stand this year?

At the upcoming Advanced Manufacturing Madrid, Mecal Ibérica will present its latest innovations in machinery for aluminium, PVC and steel processing. Among the featured products is the MC 304 ARIEL – 5 MDT, a 5-axis CNC machining centre with a cutting module designed to work extruded profiles for the creation of curtain walls. This equipment allows greater flexibility and efficiency in the machining of complex profiles.

Why is it important for you to participate in Advanced Manufacturing?

Participating in Advanced Manufacturing Madrid is fundamental for Mecal Ibérica, as it represents an opportunity to consolidate its position in the steel and machining market for large parts for industries such as the railway, naval and automotive sectors. The fair allows the company to showcase its advanced technological solutions and connect with professionals from the industrial sector.
