Madrid, October 25, 2023. Advanced Manufacturing Madrid, the leading trade fair for the manufacturing industry organized by Easyfairs, holding its 15th edition on November 15 and 16 at IFEMA, presents a full program of activities and conferences that will ensure the transfer of knowledge among professionals. This year, the fair will bring together 13,000 visitors and 600 exhibiting companies in a single space to showcase the latest developments in technological solutions for the entire industrial value chain.

Advanced Manufacturing Madrid, which encompasses the MetalMadrid, Composites, and Robomática Madrid events, will offer a wide range of presentations, roundtable discussions, success stories, and workshops over two days, covering the latest developments in sustainability, the digital revolution, digital twins, trends in surface treatment in the renewable energy sector, remote robotics, and much more.

All this knowledge will be disseminated at Tech Congress 4.0, the cross-sector event that will bring together leading experts from renowned companies and features two conference rooms (Dassault Systèmes Room and Composites Ágora Room) and a dedicated room for training workshops (Maquinser Room).

Training and practical workshops with revolutionary technology

In the Maquinser Room, attendees will be able to learn and interact with cutting-edge technologies in the various workshops. This year, training in aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel welding using different techniques will be offered by Soldaman and CESOL. In addition, the additive manufacturing workshop will delve into all the necessary stages of the product manufacturing process, from design to the final part.

A new feature for this edition, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the Collaborative Robotics in the Metal Sector training program, organized by Robot Plus and with the participation of Onrobot and Voestalpine Böhler Welding. The program will teach how to program a robot in three different applications (an automatic CNC feeding application with DPLOY cobots, a sanding and polishing application with cobots, and finally, a welding solution with cobots) in a demonstration and participatory format. Finally, a workshop on occupational risk prevention will be held by FEMEVAL and its interactive workshop with 3D glasses. Through virtual reality, visitors will be able to choose the setting that best suits their profile to experience the work experience: working on a lathe or milling machine, warehouses and factories, or offices, among others.

Inspiring Presentations: Dassault Systèmes Room

Furthermore, the Dassault Systèmes Room will host an extensive program of conferences and specialized forums during the two days of Advanced Manufacturing Madrid. On November 15th, it will open with a roundtable discussion on the most cutting-edge European collaborative projects in the industrial sector, featuring speakers such as Arsenio Quijano, Software Development Project Supervisor at OESIA; Javier Pérez, Business Developer and co-founder of LINQ; Joseba Bilbatua, Senior Manager of Innovation & Technology at Mondragon Corporation; moderated by Teresa Hernández, Innovation Manager at EIT Manufacturing West.

Following this, the Keynote Session “The Future Lies in the Metaverse” will be led by Pedro Lozano, co-founder of Imascono and renowned explorer of AI and the Metaverse. Lozano is considered by Forbes as “One of the 100 Most Creative People in Business” and has worked with major companies, in addition to doing significant work disseminating new technologies and the digital revolution in the business sector.

Technological innovation and its application will be a key focus of the expert discussions. The implementation of digital twins throughout the entire production process to increase efficiency will be the central theme of the conference given by Dassault Systèmes. Hisparob, for its part, will lead the roundtable specializing in remote operations in fusion reactors, where it will discuss with Schunk, GTD, GMV, and Camp Tecnológico. Castrol will share with attendees the fundamental pillars for the sustainability and efficiency of machining processes.

To close the first day of AMMadrid, Silvia Fareri, Project Manager at the KITT4SME H2020 Project, will lead the conference “The Human Side of the Digital Revolution,” where she will evaluate digital skills in manufacturing SMEs. The final touch to conclude the first day will be the presentation of the Advanced Manufacturing Awards, designed to recognize business leaders in the sector for their role as drivers of innovation and industrial development. The awards ceremony will be preceded by a roundtable discussion with members of the AMAwards jury, including Juan Miguel Poyatos, Director of the Industry 4.0 and Connected Business Master’s Program at the EOI; Eva García, Additive Manufacturing Advisor Engineer at Repsol; Antonio de la Presilla, Head of Quality at ENEL Power Generation Iberia; and Anttón Meléndez, Expert in Materials, Process Simulation, and Artificial Vision and Intelligence at the IIE. Xelena Niedbala, director of the radio program “Metaverso en La Frontera” on Capital Radio, will be in charge of presenting the awards ceremony and moderating the panel discussion.

The final day of the fair will feature conferences offered by AER Automation, featuring success stories in Automation and Robotics 4.0 in the metal sector with the participation of ABB, IFM, TECNOPOWER, and their end customers; a roundtable on sustainability featuring the UN Global Compact Spain, DIRSE (Spanish Association of Sustainability Managers), and UNESID, among other speakers; a talk by APERAM on the properties and industrial benefits of Duplex stainless steel; the AIAS Conference on the challenges and trends in surface treatments in the renewable energy sector, with the participation of companies such as ARBOREA INTELLBIRD, PLASMATREAT IBERIA, CIDETEC, Eurecat, and the Miranda del Ebro Technology Center Foundation; and a networking session to close the final afternoon, offered by APAE.

Composites Ágora Arrives at Advanced Manufacturing Madrid

As a new feature this year, Composites Madrid presents Composites Ágora, a space showcasing the latest advances in composite materials, such as Fairmat’s innovative composite recycling process, Nanomate’s Smart Paddle Rackets, the Formula SAE model from Biesse and the University of Pisa, the Composite Specimens for Advanced Characterization from the University of Girona, and the “Fly” exhibition piece, manufactured by Zünd with carbon fiber-reinforced plastic, among many others. Both days, Composites Ágora will feature a networking area and a conference hall that will host, in addition to talks, the 4th AEMAC Congress on Composite Materials.

On the first day, visitors will be able to attend a full day of talks, such as one given by AIMPLAS on composites within the construction and mobility sectors; Aiitip will present the HELACS project, which focuses on advanced processes for the dismantling and recovery of aeronautical composite materials. In the afternoon, the University of Girona will present its Hairmate project, which aims to manufacture and test the next generation of aircraft seats designed in the former HAIRD project; Biesse, which will present, together with the E-Team from the University of Pisa, the SAE formula for manufacturing key components in carbon fiber and wood; and Eurecat, which will explain the development of H2 tanks and related manufacturing processes.

On November 16, the Composites Ágora will host the 4th edition of the AEMAC Congress on Composite Materials, featuring presentations such as Gorka Ibáñez Nájera of Hexagon Manufacturing Itelligence on the power of digital transformation in composite materials; Ivan Domenech, Project Director at AITEX, on the recovery of carbon fiber and other fibers from composite materials; Víctor Herber, Technology Director, on gas storage projects in Type IV tanks and the use of bio-based fibers and resins; and Francisco Escobar, Head of Architecture and Integration at Airbus, on the state-of-the-art development of CFRP for large components at Airbus.

“Advanced Manufacturing Madrid is a space for business, research, networking, and commercial opportunities, but we also want it to be a place for training and knowledge dissemination in the areas that matter most to our visitors. For this new edition, we’ve expanded the program with forums and conferences that will bring the keys to Industry 4.0 to the public, as well as practical workshops that will expand their skills and understanding of manufacturing processes and robotics. We want attendees to be fully enriched and take advantage of all the opportunities the fair offers so that Advanced Manufacturing Madrid provides a significant boost to their businesses,” notes Oscar Barranco, General Manager of Easyfairs Iberia.
