On the sofa with... Antonio Espinosa - CEO de LIUX y One Young World TOP 15 Entrepreneur.

ADVANCED MANUFACTURING MADRID – From your perspective, how is the sector progressing and what do you think the car of the future will be like?

ANTONIO ESPINOSA – We are trying to build it. Rather than just watching it progress, we are trying to be part of its development. And we try to ensure that sustainability is understood beyond electrification, how we manufacture, what materials we use, how we use the vehicle, how it is recycled… Taking into account the entire life cycle of the product, from its design and manufacture to its recycling… We are trying to contribute something positive to the world and to this industry in this regard.

AM: How do you find the balance between innovation and sustainability?

A.E – I think they are two sides of the same coin. Ultimately, if we understand sustainability not as something that has to cost you extra, but as something that can first generate a new market, develop new products and then also generate efficiencies. In the end, sustainability and efficiency go hand in hand. If you reduce costs, you reduce energy use, you reduce weight… Sustainability is also cost savings. I think we need to change the paradigm a little and think that sustainability is not something that is going to cost you, but something that is going to contribute to your business model and, in general, to your efficiencies.
