TRUMPF presents its most comprehensive additive manufacturing solution for the medical and dental sector at Expodental.

TruPrint 2000 introduces the new feature of processing printing powder without removing the part // It is specifically designed for the production of custom prostheses // Superior 3D printing quality with high productivity and low cost per part

TRUMPF, a leading company in machine tool manufacturing solutions, laser technology, and electronics for industrial applications, will present its latest innovation at Expodental (the international trade fair for dental equipment, products, and services, taking place from March 12 to 14 at IFEMA in Madrid). This compact 3D printer offers significant advantages for the medical sector, especially the dental sector.

The TruPrint 2000 is specifically designed for the manufacture of customized prosthetics for patients, as well as tools and molds that require high quality standards, as it meets the strictest standards required in the medical sector.

It features a compact multi-laser design with a focal diameter reduced to 55 microns, enabling the printing of components with very smooth surfaces and complex structures, ensuring high-quality finishes. However, the main innovation is that it allows printing powder to be processed in an inert gas atmosphere, to prevent the entry of contaminants, without the need to extract and unpack it at another station.

“This new machine allows users to enjoy the benefits of Lean Manufacturing. It requires very few accessories, so the initial investment is lower for companies looking to adopt additive manufacturing,” explains Florian Krist, TRUMPF Product Manager for Additive Manufacturing.

TRUMPF will showcase this solution for sensitive medical systems at Expodental. Thanks to the 300 W laser power, it allows for easy handling of commonly used materials, such as cobalt-chromium alloys or titanium, in the manufacture of customized dental prostheses, with complete guarantee and safety.

“With the TruPrint 2000, tool temperatures can be controlled more precisely during production, which increases tool life and improves the quality of molded parts. It also reduces tool printing time and increases productivity,” Krist adds.
