About us
Optrel produces automatic welding helmets and respiratory protection products in Switzerland and sells them worldwide. The company is focussed on providing its products with unique benefits. This is why around a quarter of all optrel employees research and develop innovations every day that make everyday work in the manufacturing industry easier.
This has earned optrel the title of innovation leader in the welding industry. This is proven by unrivalled, in-house developed and patented technologies. For example, the favourite technology of all users: ShadeTronic®, the technology ensures automatic and stepless dimming of the anti-glare cassette, depending on the intensity of the welding arc.
optrel counts two very specific features as an innovation: 1. a benefit for users that no other product has ever offered before. 2. this benefit is so valuable that users no longer want to do without it. Every optrel product therefore offers an advantage that has never been seen before in welding protection. These include welding helmets with a field of vision 6 times larger than others. Anti-glare cassettes that brighten up to level 2.0 and colours that have never been seen before in welding.
optrel was founded in 1986. At that time, the company was one of the few ones in the world to offer welding helmets with an anti-glare cassette. Almost 40 years later, the company has around 90 employees and is family-owned. As an SME, optrel is able to listen to the voices of the manufacturing industry and incorporate them into its developments. Everyone who works with an optrel product is part of the optrel family. The optrel swiss air breathing protection system brings clean breathing air into your environment and lets you breathe as freely as you can otherwise only enjoy outdoors in nature. Many workplaces and public spaces generate pollutant emissions such as smoke, soot particles, particulate matter, or viruses that can enter the lungs through the nose, throat, and trachea, causing asthma, chronic cough, bronchitis, or other respiratory diseases, including lung cancer. With the optrel swiss air respiratory protection system you enjoy fresh air, completely independent of your activity and your other protective equipment. It lets you perform hazardous work independently and freely. The core element of the optrel swiss air blower respiratory protection system is a ventilated half-mask that completely covers the mouth and nose area and supplies it with purified air. A breathing space is created in the mouth and nose area which, thanks to positive pressure, supports the user in breathing and eliminates tiring breathing resistance.
