DEROUGING

Derouging is a specialized chemical treatment used to remove oxides and discoloration from stainless steel surfaces when the passive layer has been altered by temperature, steam or contaminants. This process restores surface cleanliness without damaging the material, improves corrosion resistance and helps maintain hygiene, safety and system validation. After treatment, passivation is recommended to regenerate the protective layer of the stainless steel.
