Polyimides sit at the top of the engineering polymer pyramid. They belong to the “Extreme Polymers” category: materials whose combination of properties enables them to withstand conditions beyond the capabilities of many engineering plastics.

At Bronymec, we specialise in machining Plavis polyimides for highly demanding industrial applications. We combine our knowledge of this material family with the manufacture of parts to customer drawings, taking into account the geometry, tolerances and operating conditions of each application.

The Plavis range offers thermal resistance, resistance to creep under sustained loads, and friction and wear performance. Its different grades allow properties such as electrical insulation, dimensional stability or low outgassing for vacuum applications to be prioritised.

These capabilities open up possibilities for sliding components, insulating elements and parts for semiconductor equipment, high-temperature processes and vacuum systems. Grade selection is based on the thermal, mechanical and environmental requirements of each application.
