Jaime Ruesca - CEO Prismacim

1. What motivated you to start developing this product?

At Prismacim, we contribute to the development of innovative products in diverse industrial sectors. Our motivation stems from a clear objective: to bring digitalization and technological innovation to all types of companies, from industrial SMEs to large aerospace or automotive companies.
Many of them have the potential but lack the resources or knowledge to transform their processes. That’s where we come in: with our experience and Siemens solutions, we help turn ideas into high-value-added products.

2. Can you tell us about the product development process? Are there any anecdotes or obstacles that stood in your way?

We have developed a comprehensive value proposition based on consulting, training, engineering services, and the implementation of CAD, CAM, CAE, ECAD, ALM, and PLM solutions.

The road has not been easy. Many clients—even large corporations and well-known multinationals—come to us with outdated tools, manual processes, or workflows heavily reliant on Excel. Although Excel has been a useful tool for decades, it is not designed to manage the complexity, traceability, and collaboration required for product development in a competitive and digitalized industrial environment.

We encounter cases where versions of drawings, bills of materials, requirements, or quality issues continue to be managed through shared spreadsheets, leading to errors, duplication, loss of critical information, and bottlenecks. Implementing solutions such as Teamcenter (PLM) or Polarion (ALM) allows for centralizing information, automating key processes, and establishing complete traceability from design to manufacturing and even maintenance.

Changing this dynamic is not only a technical issue, but also a cultural one. It requires pedagogy, a clear strategic vision, and a support process tailored to the client. At Prismacim, we don’t sell technology alone; we help effectively integrate it into the organization so that it becomes a sustainable competitive advantage.

3.- What is the technology behind this innovation?

Our innovation is supported by the Siemens Digital Industries Software ecosystem of solutions. We are talking about cutting-edge technologies such as:

Solid Edge and Solid Edge CAM Pro for mechanical design and machining.
Simcenter FEMAP for CAE simulations and finite element analysis (FEA).
Teamcenter for comprehensive PLM product lifecycle management.
Polarion for requirements management and ALM applications.
Essential capital for E/E design and manufacturing of electrical harnesses.
All of this under a digital twin approach and with the ability to integrate into Industry 4.0 architectures.

4.- What are the main advantages of this innovative product? What needs does it address and how can it improve the lives of companies?

Our approach provides:

Greater efficiency and reduced time in product development.
Error reduction by integrating design, simulation, documentation, and manufacturing.
Multidisciplinary collaboration, even in distributed environments.
Technological scalability, from startups to large corporations.
And, above all, a solid foundation for continuous innovation.
Companies gain competitiveness, traceability, quality… and the real possibility of innovating without compromising their deadlines or resources.

A very representative example is the case of a company specializing in automotive and industrial solutions, which managed to improve part design times by up to 50% thanks to the implementation of Solid Edge with synchronous technology. This allowed them to work much more agilely, even on imported geometries, and significantly accelerate their processes without sacrificing precision or quality.

These types of results not only optimize the client’s daily operations but also strengthen their competitiveness against major market players.

5.- Which industries is the innovation primarily aimed at?

We work with a wide variety of sectors, all of which have high demands for quality and innovation:

Aerospace and defense
Naval
Automotive
Machinery and capital goods
Electronics and automation
Industrial manufacturing
Technology startups
Our approach is sector-specifically flexible, but always with a deep technical vision. We tailor solutions to the specific needs of each client, regardless of their size.

6. What are the main obstacles faced by a company seeking to develop an innovative product?

There are several common challenges:

Resistance to change within teams or organizational culture.
Lack of integration between departments or tools.
Lack of familiarity with available technologies or fear of complexity.
Lack of qualified technical profiles.
Therefore, beyond software, at Prismacim we offer strategic consulting, training, and ongoing support. We don’t just implement technology; we make it work for the client’s daily operations.
