Tirso CSA has become the first Spanish steel and metallurgical company to certify its information and management system in accordance with the standards established by the National Safety Scheme (ENS) and the international standard ISO 27001:2022.
This milestone achieved by the Cantabrian company reinforces its commitment to a production model in which security and cybersecurity are fundamental elements to guarantee adequate service provision.
The KIWA organization, a world leader in testing, inspection and certification, has been in charge of carrying out the independent audits to verify compliance with the requirements established by both regulations. Juan Cardona, general director of KIWA Spain, and Carlos Resch, commercial director of the northern area of KIWA Spain, have delivered the two accreditations to a representation of the company headed by Roberto González, deputy director of Tirso CSA.
The Cantabrian entity, specialized in the distribution of certified steel and metallurgical products (industrial and naval sheet metal, profiles, construction steel, etc.) and custom-made supplies, has made a significant human and economic effort to improve its technological infrastructure. The objective was to especially protect their main asset, which are the systems, programs, files and databases, on which they carry out their activity. This process has led to the highest possible security standards when managing third-party information.
The National Security Scheme, regulated by Royal Decree 311/2022, represents a comprehensive framework designed to protect sensitive and critical information that companies and users exchange with both public administrations and other organizations. To this end, it establishes a set of standards and practices to guarantee the security and integrity of said information, as well as the continuity of operations.
